OJSL Provisional Project

One School. One Story. The Olathe Junior Service League provisional class is excited to share our community project for this year!

 

Our group has chosen to partner with a Title I elementary school in Olathe to create an all-school reading experience centered around Beverly Cleary’s beloved The Mouse and the Motorcycle. Our goal is to provide every student and every staff member with their own copy of the book, giving the entire school the opportunity to read the same story together. Throughout the school year, students and staff will participate in activities inspired by the book, helping bring the story to life while encouraging reading, imagination and connection throughout the school community.

 

We love that this project goes beyond simply giving children a book. It creates a shared experience — something students, teachers and staff can talk about, enjoy and experience together throughout the year. Now our provisional class is working to raise the funds needed to purchase all of those books! We would be so grateful for the support of our fellow OJSL members and community members. Whether you choose to make a donation, share our project with friends and family, or help connect us with a local business that might like to contribute, every bit of support helps us put another book into a child’s hands. We can’t wait to share more as the project comes together and, most importantly, to see these books make their way into the hands of Olathe students. One school. One story. A whole community reading together.
